Prewar Days 2024 – Celebrating 100 Years of the Bugatti Type 35 and Cyclecars

Kortrijk Xpo (Belgium) will once again host Prewar Days, the premier international classic car fair, which will take place from Friday 6th December to Sunday 8th December 2024. Since its inception in 2019, this unique event has become the definitive end-of-season gathering for enthusiasts of pre-war vehicles. This year’s edition is dedicated to a very special anniversary: the centenary celebration of the Bugatti Type 35, an icon of automotive history, alongside the legendary cyclecars.

With over 60 exhibitors from eight different countries and an impressive collection of more than 150 vehicles, Prewar Days is a paradise for any classic car enthusiast. Spanning an area of over 6,000 m², visitors can not only admire the beautifully restored cars but also explore various stands featuring books, parts, documentation, and vintage automobilia.

A Look Back at Previous Editions

Previous editions have introduced visitors to rare pre-war vehicles, such as the 1904 Darracq 12-HP, made famous by the film Genevieve. Other notable models, including a Lincoln with a V12 engine, have also been showcased. These editions demonstrate the event's continuing appeal, with surprising and rare vehicles stealing the spotlight year after year.

The Central Theme: Bugatti Type 35 and Cyclecars

This year, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bugatti Type 35, a car renowned not only for its design but, more importantly, for its performance on the racetrack. With its lightweight construction, innovative engineering, and unmistakable beauty, the Type 35 became the most successful racing car of its time. With over 1,000 victories to its name, this Bugatti is an absolute legend. The exhibition will also feature a special focus on cyclecars – compact, often hand-built vehicles that were popular in the early 20th century due to their accessibility and sporting character.
